Franklin Mint 

Franklin Mint was founded in 1964 by Joseph Segel in Wawa, Pennsylvania, it transformed the way people viewed mass - produced memorabilia.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the company expanded its catalog from coins and gold, to miniature cars, motorcycles,  dolls, figurines, luxury games, jewellery and watches.

At its peak, Franklin Mint was a global powerhouse with millions of subscribers.

In 1981 the company was sold to Warner Communications, and later in 1986 it was sold to Roll International, under the new ownership the focus changed to celebrity, including the controversial Princess of Wales memorabilia.

The 21st century brought challenges as collectables shifted to digital assets.

In 2013, the brand was sold to the Sequential Brands Group.

Today, Franklin Mint exists primarily as a brand name licensed for various nostalgic products and high - end gifts.
